A Christmas Heartwarming Story

Here's a lovely little story about how our Advisers can go above and beyond for clients. It is so heartwarming, we just had to share ❤❤

I attended a home visit yesterday in West Lancs, and assisted the lady with completing an Attendance Allowance form. This lady is in her 80's she is house bound, can only literally move from the bed to the commode and to a chair in her room. She has care staff come to give her food and medication 2 times a day, she doesnt see anybody as she has never married and has no children.

After completing her AA form I suggested I would post it for her, as I normally do with people who are housebound or struggle with mobiluty, as I was getting ready to pack up and do this, in our conversations that I usually have with clients, I asked her is anyone visiting over Christmas on Christmas Day and are the staff working Christmas Day? At this point the lady stared crying and become very upset, so I sat down with her to chat some more to make sure she was okay before I left.

In the afternoon at the outreach at the Hub in Upholland St Thomas the Martyr, I noticed they have a new project whereby they would deliver a cooked meal and present on Christmas Eve. I called the lady back up, and arranged this for her, she was so happy and thankful. The church will deliver a meal and present on Christmas Eve and the care staff will warm up her meal for her on the Christm #uphollandhub #sharethelove❤️
